just like the thoughts of my mind

TFI Friday

I feel like I’m having a total crisis with my wardrobe at the moment, it feels so boring.

Sorry to open with a moan…Ladies I need your help and quick. How do you put your outfits together, how to you make them more exciting rather than being ‘Plain Jane’. I find myself reaching for the high necks and layers because it’s been such a cold winter and I want to cover up as much of myself as I can to keep warm. it’s almost like I’ve forgotten what I used to wear before winter came.

But enough is enough…I’m going to war with my style. Perhaps I need a challenge to give me a kick. Any suggestions gratefully received.

Outfit today:

Dress New Look sale £5 (about 3 years ago)
Leather Belt Gifted
Black treggings New Look sale £7
Leopard print cardigan Tesco Clothing sale £5
Office cowboy Boots £5 charity shop
Parrot earrings

I went to get my hair cut and coloured at the college today but they had booked me in during half term week by mistake! So it’ll have to wait until next week…but that’s something to look forward to and they are going to give me a discount. Ah discount…one of my favourite words along with sale, cheap, free, reduced…

Looking forward to hearing your suggestions on what I can do to shake myself up wardrobe wise. I don’t have a lot of spare cash to spend but could pick up some key bits here and there.

Does anyone else find that doing their blog taps into their body image issues? Last couple of days I've really wobbled seeing photos of myself. :(

Lots of Love

Yes I hate the pictures most of the time, but I take them in the morning before work, so strictly limit myself to 5 or I know i'd be there all day trying to get a half-decent one.

If I take the photo and I don't like - it doesn't go on my blog. However I know that I wear size 10 bottoms so I know I am not fat but it doesn't stop me feeling fat.

Look at your fab waist - it's the cardigans making you feel a bit bleurgh, your missing the best bits when they are hidden under baggy boyfriend cardis!

Just to say that I hate wearing polo necks so I go for scarfs to keep warm. You could wear a bright scarf with that dress.

Me too I hate the pics on my blog and ten to take hundreds before I decide on one that will make do.

I think you have a great sense of style personally and I love seeing your outfits they always look so well put together and co-ordinated- love the belt today that matches your boots...but I think we have all become tired of winter theres only so lo you can layer up without feeling frumpy over it...roll on Summer- hell even Spring would do!

I do have moments where I go 'Oh geez, I look fat', but then I think 'well **** it, I am fat, at least as far as fashion is concerned', and I post it anyway. Possibly I have an ego bigger than any one woman should have. You have a lovely trim figure and that cardigan swamps it, which will be why you don't feel so good in it.

Your basic items don't have to be boring - you could switch things up with a big flash brooch, or a scarf. Actually I love the remix lillipilli does with an old top here - http://frocksandfroufrou.blogspot.com/2010/02/frugal-february-remix-have-heart.html. Worth a look and maybe a think.

Feel better soon

Aw,
I actually really like this outfit. The mix of black and brown livens it up a lot.

Feel better lovely x

I think you've got really good, classic taste. Channel in on the pared-down style you already have with a flash of an outrageous accessory.
A clashing silk scarf tied air-hostess style in a big pussybow around your neck would finish that perfectly cut dress off a treat.

I tend to take loads of photos and then think "oh feck it", pick the least awful and shove it on the blog. I have never liked photos of myself though so meh, I just put up with it.

But you always look gorgeous and you have such a lovely figure, please don't feel miserable about it :(

I love the black and brown look you've pulled together today. You so suit simple lines. Perhaps just buy a few new colourful pieces that will work with what you already have to create a few new outfits?
